Cooper, Susan. The Dark Rising Sequence.  Puffin, 2001.

Five fantasy novels that rely on the legends of King Arthur.

A King favorite for many people—this one will keep you busy for hours and hours.  It’s 1153 pages long.

A classic children’s book that never grows old.

Martin, George R. R. Game of Thrones

Five books in this series so far.  Thousands of pages of escapism.  Happy dragon-cheering.  Of course the HBO series is good, too, and you can live stream all the current episodes.

Rowling, J. K.  Harry Potter Series

Seven books here—this should give you some good escapism.  So much more in-depth than the movies.

Funke, Cornelia.  Inkheart.

Book #1 published in 2005.  This is a trilogy.
